About A. L. FitzPatrick School
FitzPatrick, a three-story “L” shaped building with an annex facility at the far end of the schoolyard, was the largest elementary school ever built in Northeast Philadelphia; it was meant to accommodate the children of the ‘baby boom’ era.
Our current enrollment has risen as high as 850 students within a span of Pre-K to grade 8. Our Bright Futures Pre-School and our four kindergarten classes serve approximately 132 students.
A dedicated faculty focuses on implementing the Core Curriculum maintaining high expectations, providing, hands-on learning, and recognizing students’ achievements through a structured student recognition program. Full-time Art, Computer Science, Music, Physical Education, and Health specialist programs augment the academic disciplines in grades K through 8 and Special Education.
FitzPatrick School provides a wide array of extra-curricular activities. Student talent is developed through Instrumental Ensemble, and Arts. Teacher mentors provide small group and individual instruction and support to students in academic need.
Shared Values
Our FitzPatrick Family believes that their own life-long commitment to learning is crucial to deliver a quality instructional program in their classrooms, enhanced through self-reflection, attendance at staff development and professional seminars, collaboration with colleagues, and implementation of best practices. We firmly believe that we can accomplish our goals by maintaining high levels of expectations that challenge students, and by providing differentiated support, as needed.
